In order to provide full transparency and to avoid any confusion I must add this page to inform you that this is an actual business and not a charity.
Josh’s Appliance Repair, LLC. does NOT provide free truck rolls, diagnostics, estimates, etc.
We do, like every other business, have real expenses and those are only increasing every day. We strive to provide fair prices to everyone involved and that includes more than just the customer. We will provide clear & fair pricing to the customer, of course! But we must also provide fair pay to our Team Members because slavery was outlawed over 150 years ago so our Team Members won’t work for free.
We also must provide a fair wage to the owner. That’s right! The owner needs to be paid as well! Although on slow weeks, I will forfeit my pay so that I can still pay my Team Members, Suppliers, Advertisers, Insurers, etc. While over 99% of my customers understand this, I do get a few each year that don’t get it. This is why this page is being made.
You see, in order to be able to stay in business so that we can honor the warranty we gave you as well as provide superior service to you in the future, we must charge for the work we do, even if that is simply coming out and giving you a diagnostic & estimate. In order to provide this diagnostic & estimate, we must:
- Have a vehicle
- Maintain it so it can make it to you on time & not waste your time.
- Gas
- Oil & fluid changes
- Tires
- Brakes
- Commercial Insurance! (now over $1000 per month with not a single claim, ever!)
- Maintain it so it can make it to you on time & not waste your time.
- Have commercial liability insurance
- This protects you & your property but costs us.
- Have Team Members to actually go and provide service to you.
- Be in good standing with Google & other advertisers.
- Yes! If you clicked on of our ads, that costs us!
- Be in good standing with our suppliers.
- So we can get you Genuine OEM parts
- with warranty
- won’t fail & damage your home
- Instead of cheap Amazon parts
- with no warranty
- might fail & damage your home with no recourse
- So we can get you Genuine OEM parts
- And finally, have motivation & avoid being taken advantage of.
Yeah, with a relatively small service like an appliance repair, vs something like a home edition, installing a pool, etc. if we don’t charge a service call fee for diagnostics, than we would be getting people people to have us come out and give them a diagnosis and then just say “Thanks but I think I’ll do it myself now that I know what’s wrong with it”. And that’s totally fine, but if I do that all day, I’ll go out of business and then can’t help those who actually wanted to just hire a professional.
Now, all this being said…
Josh’s Appliance Repair waives the service call fee upon repair.
We do this because we don’t want you to have to pay double, once for the diagnostics and again for the repair. We consider diagnostics as part of the repair because we can’t actually fix it without knowing what’s wrong with it. So, please don’t fret over the service call fee. You can get it for free, just not all by itself.
I hope I was able to make all this clear. One more thing. The service call fee is normally $99 but it can be more for certain situations. Commercial or businesses are usually $125-$150 depending and what we call “advanced” diagnostics are also usually $125-$150 depending. But again, these are waived upon completion of repairs.
